The mayor of Tamale honourable Musah Superior has indicated that the NPP government led by Nana Akufo Addo will develop the country through the local indigence. According to the Metropolitan Chief Executive the development plan of the NPP government will be initiated from grassroots to the top leaders. He made this today during the 2017 Town hall meeting organized by the Ministry of information in collaboration with the ministry of local government and rural development for the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly to deliberate on the challenges facing the metropolis and how to address them in order to accelerate development.
Mr. Iddrisu Musah Superior said, the forum will again enable the people of the metropolis to know the national policy programmes that have been initiated by the government, under the excellent leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akofu-Addo.
He noted that, government recognizes that all citizens irrespective of their locality have the right to know about the progress being made so far by the government in fulfilling the promises that were made to them.
“It is against this backdrop that, the Ministry of Information seeks to institutionalize this forum in all the MMDAs in the country in order that the people are well informed as well as create an opportunity for interface in order to deepen transparency and accountability”.
Mr. Iddrisu Superior asked the citizenry to take advantage of the planting for food and jobs initiated this government.
“As a farming area as our region, we should utilize and take advantage of planting for food and job policy brought this government to reduce unemployment rate and increase production in the country”
On behalf of the Northern Regional minister, the budget officer for the Regional coordinating council Peter Owusu Frimpong stated the minister’s was committed to fore see the success of the government’s policies in the region. The maiden 2017 Town Hall meeting of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly has been organize to provide a platform for government to account to the people about its stewardship and also allow for citizens to demand answers on issues that are bothering their minds.
This program is expected to run through all districts across the country.
