Eat more mangoes


Medical practitioner Livingstone Noel Kpotosu has advised pregnant women to consume at least one mango a day because of its nutritional benefits.
According to him, “The calcium and magnesium present in mango relaxes the heart muscles, relieves stress and also prevents abortion during pregnancy”. It also reduces the risk of obesity and mortality, diabetes, heart diseases, increase energy and reduces weight.
“Due to the high amount of fiber found in mango, eating one mango a day could be helpful in the prevention of constipation, regular bowel movements, treat acidity and poor digestion because of an enzyme found in the fruit that smoothes the stomach. It is also a laxative” he stated. Mangoes are rich in iron said to be good for pregnant women and people leaving with anemia.
Moving on, Dr. Livingstone Kpotosu added “drinking mango juice is believed to improve memory concentration and preventing mental weakness”. Mangoes are also found to have antioxidants which helps filter out harmful blue light rays and is thought to play a protective role in eye health and possibly ward off damage from macular degeneration.
This tropical fruit is also very helpful for people who have liver disorders and a good source of beta-carotene to prevent the risk of developing asthma, as well as helps in the prevention of various Vitamin A disorders.
Further on, he added “Ripe mangoes are good for muscles, stimulating appetite improving the skin’s texture and appearance and also the hair. The amount of Vitamin C found in mango prevents internal hemorrhages”.
“Those who want to improve their sex life should consume mangoes as they contain Vitamin E which helps to better the function of the hormonal system” he concluded.
