N/R. NPP consoles late Dakpema’s family

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Northern Region has expressed its sorrowfulness over the death of the late chief of Tamale, Dakpema Naa Alhaji Mohammed Alhassan Dawuni, who died over the weekend.

The NPP issued a statement which was signed by the regional secretary of the party Lawyer Sule Sambian to offer condolences to the family of the late Tamale chief who they described as a great leader, a unifier and a true nationalist.

 

The statement described the death of the late Dakpema as untimely, heartbreaking and a huge blow to all citizens especially those in the northern region.

“Our hearts and condolences are with the bereaved family. We pray that God, the righteous judge, will grant you the resilience and courage to cope with the loss,” the statement said.

The powerful traditional ruler died at age 76 after a short illness while receiving treatment at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

The late Chief, who was a Muslim by faith, was laid to rest on Sunday July 15, 2018 in line with the Islamic custom.
