GIBA Elects New Northern Regional Executives

On Thursday March 1, 2018; at the Nim Avenue Hotel in Tamale, the National executives of the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA) led by the president Mr. Andrew Danso Anninkora of Kessben FM met with its members in the Northern, Upper West and Upper East regions to elect a coordinator and an assistant coordinator to see to the day to day administration of the association in the three regions of the North.

Mr. Kessie Musah Ibrahim, CEO of Kesmi FM in Tamale and before the elections, the acting Northern Regional Coordinator was elected as the new Northern Regional Coordinator of the Association with Mr. Abubakar Mumin,board chair of Eagle FM in Walewale elected as the deputy northern regional coordinator.

Both men went into the elections unopposed and received a hundred percent endorsement by all members present.

The new Northern Regional Coordinator, expressed his gratitude to the members of the Association for the confidence reposed in him and his deputy and promised to ensure that within the shortest possible time, all GIBA members within the three regions of the north will be in good standing.

He added that “One of the things we will do is to make sure we get more membership in the Northern region and also make sure they pay their dues to be in good standing. We will make GIBA attractive and fight for our collective interest”


The president of the association Mr. Andrew Danso Anninkora, in his introductory message before the elections, enumerated the numerous benefits of belonging to GIBA and also what members can do with GIBA that they are not taking those opportunities.

He also encouraged all members to do their possible best to be in the good books of authorities like the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), NCA and GHAMRO.
